About UpliftED
UpliftED is an "Adopt a Teacher" program with a mission to provide comprehensive mental health education, support, and resources to educators. Our goal is to create a nurturing environment where teachers can thrive both personally and professionally, leading to more effective teaching and enriched learning experiences for students, especially those facing mental health challenges.
In today’s fast-paced educational landscape, teachers face numerous challenges that can impact their mental health and well-being. UpliftED is here to offer a lifeline of support, ensuring that every teacher has access to the tools and resources they need to succeed and feel valued.
KDM seeks to support and uplift teachers through comprehensive mental health education, fostering a culture of wellness and resilience in the classroom, and equipping them with the skills to support students with mental health needs.
At UpliftED, we understand the crucial role mental health plays in the overall well-being of teachers and their students. Our program provides:
- Training Workshops: Interactive sessions focusing on mental health awareness, stress management, and coping strategies, tailored to the needs of teachers. Specialized training on recognizing signs of mental illness, effective communication, and intervention strategies. They’re not just another boring training. KDM makes it fun with in-person training with a complimentary meal and swag bags!
- Resource Newsletters: Comprehensive materials to help teachers integrate mental wellness practices into their daily routines and classrooms. Techniques for managing classroom behaviors and supporting emotional regulation among students with mental health needs.
- Classroom Tools: Teachers and students shouldn’t need to stress over classroom supplies. Classroom rewards systems are a great tool to keep students engaged.
- Teacher Treats: A healthy teacher creates a thriving classroom. As a part of this adopt a teacher program, we hope to bring smiles to the teachers so that they may bring smiles to the students and everyone make learning more fun and meaningful.
A 2023 survey by the Texas State Teachers Association (TSTA) found that 78% of Texas teachers reported feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or burned out due to their teaching responsibilities .
Approximately 1 in 6 students (16.5%) in Texas are experiencing mental health conditions that affect their functioning at school and home .
How UpliftED Works
1. Teacher Enrollment - Teachers can join UpliftED by signing up through our website. Enrollment provides one year's access to all program resources, training sessions, and support services. The program renews each school year.
2. Supporter Enrollment – Supporters sign up to adopt a teacher as a part of the UpliftED program. Every donation of $50 adopts one teacher for one school year. You may choose a teacher, a school, or a school district. If you don't select, KDM will match your donation with a teacher(s). KDM provides all services. We’ll do all the work for you! Just sit back and know a teacher is smiling this year because of you and your generosity. We will provide your name to your adoptee. Donations over $1000 will be listed as a Major Donor on our website, newsletters, and various fundraising materials.

You may request a school district, a school, or a teacher, but it's not necessary because your donation can be matched with teachers who have asked to be adopted.
